CP Himalayan Tiger Trek 2017
21 November 2017
The lovely Linsey Wallace was fundraising for Cats Protection Glasgow Branch and took part in the CP Himalayan Tiger Trek between the 7th and 19th of October 2017 where she was trekking through the lesser Himalayan mountain range and spent 3 days in the Kanha National Park to learn more about the tigers’ environment and help to keep it shipshape for the big cats.
Lindsay is now back and has sent the following update:
Trip was an amazing experience, we spent 4 days trekking in the high 20s- 30s temperature. We visited a pre school and a primary school of a local village in Kahna where we learned the children are taught about the importance of tiger conservation. We took part in weeding plants that are dangerous for the animals in the park to consume and we planted trees to aid in the conservation efforts the park rangers and locals undertake.
I completed this challenge with some amazing people who all share the ‘craziness for cats’ and have made some great memories and friends from this experience. I would recommend this challenge to others as a great way to raise funds for Cats Protection and have a once in a lifetime experience.
I am happy to say I have raised £4,137.14 + £198.00 gift aid, and as a team we raised £62,372.00.
Lindsay, what a brilliant experience you’ve had and thank you so much for all your hard work fundraising for the branch -It’s a great achievement, you must be very proud of yourself! and it’s an incredible amount.
Well Done - you are truly a Cat Champion!
